Introduction
IMPLEMENTING AN EFFECTIVE WASTE SEGREGATION
IN HOLY TRINITY SCHOOL: CENTER OF CATHOLIC
EDUCATION
“Every year, an
estimated 11.2
billion tons of
solid waste are
collected
worldwide”

EDUCATION
• The condition of the waste management system in Holy Trinity School needs
immediate and collective action for as the population of the students grow, the more
waste they generate. Also, there is an inadequate facility and there is no existing
etc.) for better information dissemination, and because the law has obligated the
the Ecological Solid Waste Management (ESWM) Act of 2000, provides for an
a law that was passed in the 26th of January in the year of 2001.
It mandates all to adapt a systematic, comprehensive and
ecological solid waste management which would ensure protection
of public health and the environment.

Area Of Study
General Objective
Specific objectives
• To find out what more the students think they can do apart
from what they are currently contributing.
• To explore the challenges about waste segregation faced by
the HTS; CCE.
• To launch procedures within the school to improve student’s
participation for better waste management in HTS; CCE.
• To identify what are the students’ opinions and perceptions
that should be done by the school for a better practices in
waste management.

as fertilizers for economical purposes. The school may opt to
put up a back yard organic farm where it could become a

Participants
• Part II consists of the waste material that the respondents have/have not been
disposed.
• Part III states closed ended questions about the school’s waste management
capabilities and student’s awareness. It answers the questions of the school’s
standards in the waste management system and the respondents discipline and
contribution in dealing with the problem of waste management of the school.
• Part IV shows the analyzation of the respondents about the HTS’s waste
management that is measured through the use of weighted mean.
• Part V is the evaluation of the respondents about the obstacles that they are
encountering about waste management within the school.
• Part VI is the proposed solutions that the respondents have given/ voted to
make a solution to improve the waste management of the school.
