Introduction

• Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes

that dynamically form a temporary network without the reliance of any
infrastructure or central administration.
• Energy Consumption is considered as one of the major limitations in
MANET, as the mobile nodes do not possess permanent power supply.
• Routing Protocol must select the optimal route between pairs of source–
destination nodes in terms of energy consumption and QoS(Quality of
Service) metrics such as
1) Packet Delivery Ratio
2)Average end-to-end delay
3)Packet losses,
4)Throughput
5) Energy Consumption etc

Objectives of proposed work with justification
The objectives of the proposed research in the said domain have been
tentatively finalized to be one or more of the following:
• To maximize network lifetime and optimal sensing coverage of node
positioning is investigated in a better way.

• The multi-objective formulation is implemented for maximization and

minimization of energy, lifetime and area coverage.

• The increase in throughput, energy consumption, PDR and routing

overhead is analyzed in the typical environment.

• Finding the shortest route in terms of node failure.

Literature Survey

• Ant Colony Optimization Routing for Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANET),

International Journal of Smart Sensors and Ad-Hoc Networks|2016.
Advantages of Ant Colony Optimization Routing Optimization of routing is
well adaptive, scalable, and efficient. To reduce the overhead for routing.
Limitations of Ant Colony Optimization Routing AODV has a high processing
demand in the wireless networks. AODV takes a long time to build the routing
table.
• A Comparative Analysis of DSDV and AODV Routing Protocol with respect to
Data Transmission, International Journal of Advanced Research in Computer
Science and software Engineering|2016.
Advantages of this comparison is that there is no necessity to keep a routing
table inside each node because the entire route is contained in the packet.
Limitations is that there is a Delivery fraction and throughput are better in
DSDV compared with AODV routing protocols

Literature Survey Contd..

• Performance Analysis of Grid Based AODV Routing Algorithm for Ad-hoc

Wireless Networks , Scientific Research Publishing |2015
Advantage of grid based AODV is a most significant Reactive Routing
protocols, which is used for simple flooding mechanism to broadcast the Route
Request (RREQ).
Limitation of grid based AODV is traffic density and the mobility of the nodes
provide better optimization only.

• EE-AODV: Energy Efficient AODV Routing Protocol by Optimizing Route

selection Process , International Journal of Research in Computer and
Communication Technology| January-2014
Advantages of Energy Efficient Ad Hoc Distance Vector Protocol (EE-AODV)
is improved by RREQ and RREP method to save energy.
Limitations of EE-AODV The AODV routing protocol doesn’t consider the
power usage as a metrics in selecting the optimal path in the entire networks

Expected Outcomes of the proposed study

Based on the set forth objective, the research work proposed here is
expected to yield possibly the following outcome.
• Through put, the value is evaluated on packets received on whole
transmitting period.

• A number of total packets received at the end are calculated on the basis of
the transmission ratio.

• The energy of an individual node is maintained at maximum level in

transmitting packets.

• By analyzing the different cluster members, the lifetime or the energy of an

individual node is consumed.
