OVERVIEW

• Project involves tunnelling a new metro line for

capital city – Kalinsk
• Line will be 15 km in total
• First phase involves first 2 km from New Utopia
to Parliament Square
• Goals
• Build tunnel in proposed time frame and within
budget, while considering heath and safety as
the utmost priority
• Win second phase of project (final 13 km to
airport)
WHO ARE OUR PARTNERS?

• LeBlanc Machinerie (LB)

• Snablova Associates (SA)
• Cyrius Cement
• Greater Kalinsk City Authority (GKCA)
• Kalinsk Transport Authority (KTA)
PRODUCT BREAKDOWN STRUCTURE
WORK BREAKDOWN STRUCTURE
EQUIPMENT

• Cranes
• Lorries
• Locomotives
• TBM (with TGS software)
WORK TO BE DONE BY SNABLOVA

• Recruiting and Training

• Subcontracts
• Stairs for access
• Stairs
• Ventilation (for stairs and tunnel)
• Tunnel
• Circuitry
• Drainage
• Emergency Systems
WORK DONE BY KTA

• Electrical Substation
• Power lines to tunnel

• Water Supply System

SPOIL REMOVAL

• Locomotives, cranes and lorries will be used to move spoil excavated from both shaft
and tunnel
• Time for removal = time for tunnel excavation + 4wks
• Will be done over the course of the project
• Spoil taken to ex-mining town
• ZRGreen
RESOURCE ALLOCATION
SCHEDULE
• Starts on 1/12/17 and ends on 10/9/18
• Gantt Chart Created in MS Project has 2
calendars – Standard and 24-hr.
• 24-hr calendar counts as 3 8-hr shifts (3 days in
1)
• Total project duration = 202 days
• Refer to Gantt Chart in MS Project file provided
for better visual of schedule
• Certain Tasks have to be done within a certain
timeframe
• Most time-consuming tasks are tunnelling,
implementing all systems into the tunnel and
spoil removal.
• Tunnel excavated at 100m/wk (140 days)  all
systems take just as long to implement (ideally)
• Spoil removal is time for excavation + 4wks
SCHEDULE (CONTINUED)
BUDGET

• The Cost-Breakdown Structure is factored into the report as a Table

• Total Cost of Tunnelling = $20,992,240
• Contingency fund = 10% of Tunnelling Cost
• Management Fees (2% for BLT; 1% for Snablova); Factored in after adding in
contingency fund
• Final Total = $23,884,207.92
