The ict
The term Information and
Communication Technologies (ICT) has
two meanings. On the one hand, the
term 'information technologies' is
often used to refer to any form of
computation; on the other, as the
name of a degree program that refers
to the preparation that students have
to meet the needs of computing and
organization technologies.
History
(ict)
• Information and communication technologies can be
considered as a dynamic concept.8 For example, at
the end of the 19th century, the telephone could be
considered a new technology according to current
definitions. This same consideration could apply to
television when it appeared and became popular in
the 1950s. However, these technologies today would
not be included in a list of ICTs and it is very possible
that computers can no longer be qualified as new
technologies. . Despite this, in a broad concept, it can
be considered that the telephone, television and
computer are part of what is called ICT, as they are
technologies that favor communication and the
exchange of information in today's world. .
• After the invention of writing, the first steps towards
an information society were marked by the electric
telegraph, followed by telephone and radiotelephony,
television and the Internet. Mobile telephony and
GPS have associated the image with the text and the
word "without cables". Internet and television are
accessible on the mobile phone, which is also a
photo-making machine.
the
technologies
• ICTs make up the set of resources needed
to manipulate and / or manage
information: computers, computer
programs and the necessary networks to
convert, store, manage, transmit and find
it.
• ITCs can be classified according to:

• The networks.
• The terminals.
• Services.
New
generation
of ICT
services
• The greater availability of broadband (10 Mbit / s) has
allowed a greater sophistication of the offer described,
since now you can access digital TV, video on demand,
online games, and so on.

• The main change that the technological possibilities have

favored has been the appearance of cooperation
formulas between users of the network, where the
classical paradigm of supplier-client is broken.

• The emergence of virtual communities or cooperative

models have proliferated in recent years with the
configuration of a set of products and forms of work in
the network, which have been collected under the
concept of Web 2.0. They are services where a provider
provides technical support, the platform on which users
self-configure the service. Some examples are:
• Services peer to peer:
• It is the activity that generates more traffic on
the network. It refers to the communication
between equals for the exchange of files in the
network, where the user makes available to the
rest, its contents and assumes the role of server.
The main applications are eMule and Kazak.
Most of the files exchanged in P2P networks are
videos and audio, in different formats.
•Blogs:
• A blog (in Spanish also a blog) is a web site
where texts or articles of one or several
authors are collected, arranged from most
modern to oldest, and written in a
personal and informal style. It is like a
newspaper, although often specialized,
dedicated to travel or cooking, for
example. The author can leave published
what it deems appropriate.
• Virtual communities:
• A set of services that allow the creation of virtual
communities, united by common interests, have
appeared for a few years. They are articulated around
two types of mechanisms:

• Collective labeling of information, to store information in

some way (photographs, bookmarks, ...). An example
would be the flickr.
• Networks that allow users to create profiles, list of
friends and friends of their friends. The best known are
MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram.
• Its technological bases are based on the consolidation of
common applications in a single place. Standard
technologies are used, such as email and its protocols;
http to facilitate the operations of uploading and
downloading information, whether they are photos or if
it is information about the profile. Chat features are also
available and allow users to connect instantly in one-on-
one or small group mode.
•Impact and
evolution of
services

• In the table you can see which are the

most popular services in Europe. Although
the data are from the year 2005, they
clearly mark the trend of the digital
lifestyle.
