•Motivation is the complex set of forces starting and keeping a person at


work in an organization. Motivation is something that moves the
person to action, and continues him in the course of action already
initiated.

•Motivation refers to the way in which urges, drives, desires,


aspirations, and strivings or needs direct, control or explain the
behaviour of human beings.

•Motivation is a willingness to expand energy to achieve a goal or


reward. It is a force that activates dormant energies and sets
in motion the action of the people.

•It is the function that kindles a burning passion for action among the
