Methodes
• Inclusion of the study group (3 islands) were based on;
- Basis of relative isolation
- Population size (small enough to be manageable, but large
enough to provide study power)
- Cultural similarities
• Inclusion of the sample;
- Every residents who were invited by letter to participate &
visited by the local district nurse
- Residents who present on the baseline visit, 3 month visit
and 12 month visit
• Exclusion of the sample;
-Residents who were absent in the community since
enrollment

Conclusions
• Mass drug administration, particularly the
administration of ivermectin, was efficacious for
the control of scabies and impetigo.
Recommendation
• Approaches to mass drug administration of
Ivermectin to control Scabies may yield better
results if they are integrated across diseases in a
way that is acceptable to individual persons and
communities.

The characteristic of Indonesian is
slightly similar to Fiji residents.
Anatomically, most of Fijian are
caucasian this is similar to Indonesian
race. Similarity also found in
demography and climate.
The study is applicable in Indonesia
situation
Beside the result of the efficacy of 3
trial groups, this study gives information
about the side effect that was happen
throughout the study, which was
confirmed that they were just minor
complications and resolved during the
study.
