Microsoft And Gender Discrimination
• In 2014, CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, gave negative comments regarding
salary rise of women in workplaces.
• He commented that women should not ask for their price rise, a time would come
when they will be given a raise.
• He said women did not give their 100% in their works, but asked for the raise,
which affected self-esteem of many women.
• There are women who give their best for their works, but still not respected for
their works. There are many organizations where gender violence still prevails.
• This was brought into media, which almost harmed the reputation of Microsoft,
but later Mr. Nadella apologized in the media.
Importance of Gender Equality
• Gender Equality is the biggest issue in the work places, and gender
discrimination may cause violence and destruction in work places.
• A proper work ethics should be maintained between different gender, ages,
religion, nationality, etc. in work places, for a peaceful working environment.
• Women play a biggest role in the development and progress of any company.
Every women should be respected for their works and they should be given equal
preferences in work places for prosperity and healthy working environment.
• Women should be given all the opportunities as men and all of them should be
treated equal.

Reflection – SLO 3: Content Development
 Understanding how genre conventions impact writing. Using contextual
information to place specialized information into appropriate genre.
 I learn how to approach our writing process, depending on the given genre and
how to place appropriate information in the given genre.
 It is totally inappropriate to add a lot of pictures in a email, but documents like
poster and brochure needs more images and graphics for faster message
convention. So, we learn to use various information to place in any given genre.
Reflection – SLO 6: Visual Communication
 Using visual design principles to develop audience-friendly data display,
including charts, tables, infographics, line graphics and presentations.
 We learn different visual design including text-box, pictures, tables and charts
and finally presentation in this class, and have been using all these
approaches from the first class.
 Visual communication helps audiences for deeper understanding of the given
topic, giving messages faster than texts. It makes any article more interesting
to read. A picture is worth a thousand words, so we learn that visual design
principle is the key for technical writing.
Reflection – SLO 7: Reviewing And Editing
 Across media and contexts, ensuring final clear style, user-centered writing,
and error-free spelling and mechanics.
 While editing the graphics, I mainly focused in balancing my document with text
and other aspect of the writing. I deleted all the text where the writing was out of
balance, adding pictures and other media. The main process in editing media
was balancing and use of appropriate pictures, which makes sense to the given
text.
 Rhetorical situation plays the main role in editing and reviewing process.
Whenever we change our genre, there will be change in medium and audience.
So, we need to edit our text in a different prospective.
