Standard Requirements for Log Book

Hard Bound notebook

Label your log book

Hand written MUST use PEN only:


CAN’T USE liquid paper

Number the pages in your logbook

Always date every entry


Standard Requirement for Log Book

It should be used during all phases of your project

Glue, staple or tape any loose papers

Don’t worry about neatness

Take some photograph that are relevant


to the given topic

Sign at the end of every day’s entry


Fundamental Criteria for Log Book Evaluation

1) Log book is labelled.


2) Standard requirement of log book is followed : MUST use pen
& CAN’T USE liquid paper.
3) Scientific methodology is followed..
4) One OR more than one hypothesis is investigated.
5) Variables are stated.
6) Apparatus & materials are listed or shown with label.
7) Procedures are developed according to the experiment.
8) Data was collected quantitatively.
9) Conclusion, suggestion and recommendation are stated.
Standard Requirements for Report Book

A4 size with comb binding

Maximum 30 pages (excluding front and back cover page)

If the report book was handwritten, MUST use PEN

The Judges will only read your report book until page 30. NOT
MORE THAN THAT.

No marks given for the decoration of the report book.

 Font Type : Times New Roman


 Font Size : 12-14pt
 Spacing : 1.5
Fundamental Criteria for Report Book Evaluation

1. Standard requirement of scientific report were followed


2. Introduction about the experiment is given
3. Objective of experiment is clearly stated
4. Hypothesis is stated
5. List of all the apparatus and materials used stated
6. Procedures were followed
7. Data was recorded quantitatively
8. A table of readings given includes: scientific unit,
repetition & average value
9. Result is interpreted and discussed
10. Conclusion and discussion were stated
11. Safety precautions were stated
12. Illustrations and diagrams used in report
13. Bibliography / *References are stated
*For websites as the reference, students are required to copy and paste the
website links only, no need to print out the pages.

independent team

On The Day – Things that schools/students
should do

 Wear LAB COATS and SAFETY EQUIPMENTS (IF NEEDED)

 DO NOT distribute any form of gifts or goodie bags to the


judges

 SHOULDN’T ask judges to taste any kind of their experiments


product (foods: ice creams, etc.)

 DO NOT need to sing a song or explain in detail about the


school background at the beginning of presentation.

Each group of students will present for 15


minutes : 10 min for explanation and 5 min
Q&A session.

Note: Students can only dismantle their booths after the


prize giving ceremony.
