Online Teaching
 Maintain a strong online presence. Be a role model of participation
 Establish expectations for interaction from the start
 Guide the student through the activities
 Teach technical skills (If the student can’t hear you or vice versa, use the chat box)
 Paraphrase/Simplify questions and or instructions
 Use the chat box in teaching pronunciation and for longer/difficult questions
 Give them ample time to think. Don’t rush the student to answer
 Talk less
 Make class communicative
 Smile and be friendly

Before the Class
• Prepare the materials
• Check your headset and camera.
• Click the attendance button
• Ideal PC setting:
(1) Book – Big (2) Appear. In

• Background should be a wall or nothing too distracting


During the Class
• Start with a greeting
• Check if the student can see/hear you
• Have a quick small talk
• Move to the lesson by stating the lesson objective
• Follow the lesson outline (be clear with your instructions as you go through the stages)
• You may add activities RELATED to the lesson if needed
• Correct student’s mistakes
