Guideline for SMHS Schools


 This guideline is based on “Key Quality Indicators”
 The Operator is expected to lead the school establishment; undertake
all activities for a strong school environment
 Head teachers expected to provide the day to day academic and
administrative leadership in the schools
 Its important to:

o Establish schools and provide facilities that can cater to sound


academic and co curricular activities
o This requires adequate infrastructure; furniture; fixtures; outer
environment
o Availability of quality staff; supplies; school records; students

 Infrastructure and Construction: Safe and viable structure with flooring,
light bright colors in classroom and in exterior portion. Decorating boundary
wall and corridor with picture, art work, path way with bricks and main gate
entrance
 Environment Friendly: Airy, Cross-Ventilation and Cross-Lighting
 Proper Sanitary: up keep and maintenance of the school building; keeping
the washrooms neat and clean, placement of soap in washrooms, dustbins
in corners,
 Plantation : Tress and plants suitable for the region must be planted in a
manner that playground is not impacted
 School playgrounds: well demarcated play area with leveling and covered
with special clay
 Hazards Free: Remove all uneven surfaces from the grounds and unwanted
stuff

 School-Home relationship: Organize parents day or parent-
teachers meeting and reporting work progress of students
(compulsory bi -annual parent teacher meeting)

 Community Involvement Program: School organize


educational events and functions for awareness of local
community members
