Requirements for LET
application
 A citizen of the Philippines or an alien whose
country has reciprocity with the Philippines in
the practice of the teaching profession
 At least eighteen (18) years of age
 In good health and of good reputation with
high moral values
 Has not been convicted by final judgement by
a court for an offense involving moral
turpitude
 A graduate of a school, college or university
recognized by the government and possesses
the minimum of educational qualification as:

1. For teachers for preschool, a


bachelor’s degree in early childhood
education (BECED) or its equivalent
2. For teachers in elementary grades, a
bachelor’s degree in elementary education
(BEED) or its equivalent

3. For teachers in the secondary levels, a


bachelor’s degree in education (BSED) or
its equivalent with major, or bachelor’s
degree in arts and sciences with at least
ten (10) units in professional education
4. For teachers of vocational and two-
year technical courses, a bachelor’s
degree in the field of specialization or its
equivalent, with at least eighteen (18)
units in professional education
Coverage of the LET
Examinations for the elementary
and secondary school teachers
shall be separated

a. Professional Education
b. General Education
c. Field of Specialization
• An examinee must obtain at
least 75% rating in order to pass
the examination
• Report of the examination
1. The board shall, within one
hundred twenty (120) days after
the examination report the
results obtained by each
candidate to the PRC approval
and appropriate action
2. A certificate is issued to the LET
registrant as a professional
teacher and shall remain in full
force and can practice the
profession with all rights and
privileges appertaining there to.
Issuance of Professional
Liscence
 A professional license signed by the chairman
of the commission with register number and
date of issuance/expiry/renewability shall be
issued to every registrant who has paid the
annual registration fees for 3 consecutive
years.
