EVERYONE HAS A

MINISTRY
WHO’S MINISTRY IS THIS?
• A story about four Christians named ESAN
• Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
• There was an important job to be done
and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
• Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
• Somebody got angry about that because it
was Everybody's job.
• Everybody thought that Anybody could do it,
but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
• It ended up
that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did
what Anybody could have done.
We need to Change
• So, Everybody said "I want change".
• Somebody said "If only Anybody would
start to change, I will join."
• But Nobody said "I will change."
• Finally Everybody stayed same,
• blaming Somebody for waiting
• for Anybody to start changing.
• So, Nobody changed.
• Colossians 4:17 And say to Archippus, Take
heed to the ministry which thou hast
received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
• Do you believe that everyone of you has its
own ministry prepared by God?
• If not, then it makes no sense to be “In-
church”.
• Heb.10:25 - Not forsaking the assembling of
ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the
more, as ye see the day approaching.
• Does your ministry has expiration and
limitation?
• You were not created just to consume resources, to
eat, to breathe, and accommodate space and just a
sitter and listener.
• God designed you to make a difference with your life.
• You were created to add to life on earth, not just take
from it.
• God wants you to give something back.
• You were brought to church to make a
contribution.
• This is God's one purpose for your life, and it is called
your ,
“Ministry," or Service
• When most people hear “Ministry,"
• They think of pastors, and lay ministers
only
• But God says every member of his family is
a minister.
• In the Bible, the words servant and
minister are synonyms.
• If you are a Christian, you are a minister,
• And when you're serving, you're
ministering.
• Before architects design a new building they first
ask,
• “What will be its purpose?
• How will it be used?”
• The intended function always determines the form
of the building.
• Before God created you, he decided what role he
wanted you to play on earth.
• He planned exactly how he wanted you to serve
him, and then he shaped you for those tasks.
• Job 10:8 – Thine hands have made me and
fashioned me together round about;
• yet thou dost destroy me.
• You are the way you are because you were made for
a specific ministry
• Each one of us has a special ministry
• The Bible says, "[God] has created us for a life of
good deeds, which he has already prepared for us
to do.
• " These "good deeds" are your service.
• Whenever you serve others in any way, you are
actually serving God.
• Jeremiah is also true : "Before I made you in your
mother's womb, I chose you. (Jer.1:5)
• Before you were born, I set you apart for a special
task
• You were placed on this planet for a special
assignment.
• Have you ever wondered why God doesn't just
immediately take us to heaven the moment we
received our salvation?
• Why does he leave us in a fallen world?
• He leaves us here to fulfil his purposes.
• Once you are saved, God intends to use you for
his goals.
• God has a ministry for you in his church and a
mission for you in the world.
• God wants to use you to make a difference in
this world.
• He wants to work through you.
YOUR
MINISTRY
• Colossians 4:17 And say to Archippus, Take
heed to the ministry which thou hast
received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
• Does your ministry has expiration and
limitation?
• Why God doesn't just immediately take us to
heaven the moment we received our
salvation?
• Because each of us has a role to play, and
every role is important.
• There is no small service to God; it all
matters.
• The church is a body,
• And like our human body this made up of
systems.
• We have a circulatory system, respiratory
system, nervous system, a structural system, a
digestive system, and so forth.
• When one of those systems gets out of order,
it’s called…
• illness or disease.
• God wants you to have a healthy body and the
body of Christ needs healthy systems too.
• We’re in the disciple development business
for God’s glory
• Every Christian is called to make, to mature,
to mobilize, to evangelize, to care for poor,
to encourage others, and so on.
1. Our ministry is to give honor and render
praises to God
• Isaiah 43:21 – The people I have
shaped for myself will broadcast my
praises
• You were chosen to tell about the
excellent qualities of God, who called
you.
2.Be engaged in God service
• You were saved to serve God.
• You were not saved to be served, but
you are saved for service.
• In God's vineyard, you have a place,
a purpose, a role, and a function to
fulfil.
• Today plenty of Churches are dying
because of Christians who are unwilling
to be engaged in God services.
• Listening without service and service
without application leads to spiritual
stagnation.
• Most of the time we're more interested
in..
• “Serve us" than Service.
• Regardless of your job or career, you
are called to full-time Christian
service.
• Career or professional attainment
should not made us unreachable to
God’s ministry
• Because a "non-serving Christian" will
become a burden in ministry…
• and will eventually die.
3. Pray and love your ministry and be a
blessing to the church
• We are blessed to be a blessing.
• We say, "I'm looking for a church that meets my
needs and blesses me," not
• "I'm looking for a place to serve and be a
blessing."
• The mature follower of Jesus must stops asking,
"Who's going to meet my needs?"
• But starts asking, "Whose needs can I meet?“
• Do you ever ask that question?
The significance for a youth to have
ministry and in service
• Know the reasons of the first destruction of God on
earth by flood?
• Genesis 8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet
savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not
again curse the ground any more for man's sake;
for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his
youth;
• This is the main mission of the church to youth
• To remove the evil in their hearts while the youths
are still youth
• Youth must be engaged in the ministry immediately
• Be faithful in small things
• It is important to develop a servant
attitude from the beginning.
• Do these ‘little things’ with great joy and
faithfulness.
• Do not draw attention to yourself.
• God will reward you as Jesus says in the
parable of the talents,
The day of accounting our ministry and service
Rom. 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of
himself to God.
• God will compare how much time and energy we spent on
Church and our ministry.
• At that point, all our excuses for self-centeredness will
sound shallow:
• Lord"I was too busy" or
• "I was preoccupied with working and preparing for my life
• To all excuses God will respond,
• "Sorry, wrong answer.
• I created, saved, and called you and commanded
you to live a life of service.
• What part did you not understand?“
• Jesus said, "If you insist on saving your life, you
will lose it.
• This truth is so important that it is repeated five
times in the Gospels.
• If you aren't serving, you're just existing,
because life is meant for ministry.
• There is no higher calling, than the call of God
• There is no importance task than God assignment
for us
• John 17:4 - I have glorified thee on the earth: I
have finished the work which thou gavest me to
do.
• Can we proudly tell God about our life
accomplishment?
• What matters is not the duration of your life,
• But the donation of it.
• Not how long you lived, but how you lived.
• No one is excuse:
• If you're not involved in any service or ministry, what excuse
have you been using?
• Abraham was old, Jacob was supplanter, Leah was unattractive,
Joseph was abused, Moses stuttered, Gideon was poor, Rahab
was immoral,
• David had an affair and all kinds of family problems, Elijah was
suicidal, Jeremiah was depressed, Jonah was hard headed,
Naomi was a widow, Peter was impulsive , hot-tempered and
most of all denied Jesus,
• Martha worried a lot, the Samaritan woman had several failed
marriages, Zacchaeus was short, Thomas had doubts, Paul was
killer.
• That is quite a variety of misfits, but God used each of them in
his service. He will use you, too, if you stop making excuses.
• Important ? To ask for your
spiritual retention until the
coming of the Lord
• What would I like to see my
Ministry in six months from now?
• How would I like to see the
Church with my help a year from
now?
