VOADV’s Context
o Mission: VOADV provides community-based assistance to
populations in need so that they can lead self-fulfilled,
independent lives
o Safe Return’s population: ex-offenders who have been
released from incarceration within the past three years
o Agency works within many contexts: local, state, and
national contexts
o Local: Safe Return employs services within six NJ counties
o State: VOADV operates out of New Jersey and Pennsylvania
o National: VOA is a nationwide organization that services
people in need
VOADV’s Ethics
o Organization promotes a high standard of ethical and
professional conduct amongst employees and clients

o Follow guidelines instilled by NOHS, ACA, and NASW

o Maintaining professional boundaries
