MARTIN JETPACK

General Description
Jet pack, rocket belt, rocket pack and similar names are used for various types of
devices, usually worn on the back, that are propelled by jets of escaping gases (or in some
cases water) to let a single user propel him or herself into the air or fly.

The concept emerged from science fiction in the 1920s and became popular in the
1960s as the technology became a reality. The most common use of the jetpack has been
in extra-vehicular activities for astronauts. Despite decades of advancement in the
technology, the challenges of Earth's atmosphere, Earth's gravity, and the human body not
being adapted to fly naturally remain an obstacle to its potential use in the military or as a
means of personal transport. As the human body is not naturally meant to fly, the jetpack
must accommodate for all factors of flight such as lift and, to some extent, stabilization.
Martin Jetpack

The Martin Jetpack is an experimental aircraft. Though its tradename uses the
phrase "jet pack", the craft uses ducted fans for lift. Martin Aircraft Company of New
Zealand developed it, and they unveiled it on July 29, 2008, at the Experimental
Aircraft Associaation's 2008 AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, US. The Federal
Aviation Administration classifies it as an experimental ultralight airplane.

It uses a gasoline engine with two ducted fansto provide lift. Its design claims a
60-mile-per-hour maximum speed, a 5,000-foot flight ceiling, with a flight time about
30 minutes on a full fuel tank.

Advantages
• We can fly to the sky
• Avoid traffic jams
• Can fly vertical and horizontal
• Can go someplace without winding
Weakness
• The size is large
• The price is expensive
• Wasteful energy
• Flight time is limited
• Does not have a flight path, so it can lead to collide
Conclusions

Jet pack, rocket belt, rocket pack and similar names are used
for various types of devices, usually worn on the back, that are
propelled by jets of escaping gases (or in some cases water) to let
a single user propel him or herself into the air or fly.
By using the jetpack, humans can fly in the air, fly either
horizontal or vertical, and can also avoid traffic jams. Additionally,
the use jetpack has some shortcomings, namely its shape
relatively large and heavy, resulting in wasteful of energy, are
expensive, and because there is no track its trajectory making it
possible collisions.
Question
1. Why jetpack necessary?
2. Made for whom this tool?
3. What is the minimum height for using this tool?
4. This tool can be used when it rains?
5. Why are not given a seat?
6. Could such tools be reduced to make it more practical?
7. Why not use electric energy?
8. How does that have to fly a long time?
Question
9. Is there an alarm when the fuel will be exhausted?
10. What is the price for a jetpack?
11. Could this be a means of public transportation in the future?
12. Why this jetpack not use gas booster?
13. More efficient and effective where the jetpack with propellers or
with gas?
14. Can be silencers so that his voice is not noisy?
15. Why Martin jetpack uses only two propellers?
16. Is this tool can also be connected to a GPS?
