 If the well conditions fall to the right of the line (water

expansion), then it is o.k. to use the valve.
 If the well conditions fall to the left of the line (water
compression), the valve should not be used.

 Provides an economical method of achieving an underbalance condition

 Available with and without the ports for circulation
– With ports for running below the packer
– Without ports for running above the packer
 Normally run at least one joint (30 feet) above the MFH

the disc

Underbalancing Valve with Knock-Out Plug

 Provides a method of running the tubing with a low fluid level to achieve
an underbalance
 Used with any mechanically actuate firing head
 Requires a minimum of 600 psi hydrostatic pressure inside the tubing
