Mission Statement
The mission statement as quoted by company’s own
staff is;

“Our mission is two fold…To help farmers maximize


their farm produce by providing quality plant nutrients
and technical services upon which they can depend.
To create wealth by building new businesses based
on company and country strengths in Petrochemicals,
Information Technology, Infrastructure and other
Agricultural sectors. In pursuing the mission we shall
at all times be guided in their conduct and decision
making by their Core Values.”

Engro Chemical Pakistan LTD.
• Engro is an agriculture based company.
• It is the second largest producer of Urea
fertilizer in Pakistan.
• The company was formerly known as Exxon
Chemical Pakistan LTD. Until 1991.
• It is a public limited company listed in the Stock
Exchange of Karachi, Islamabad & Lahore.
• Engro has 30 years of experience of fertilizers,
and is know diversifying to other agriculture
based products, such as milk, cream etc.

Safety, Environment & Industrial
Hygiene Policy
• The company gives a high priority to safe
operations, safe work practices, & protection of
the environment and the employees.
• One of their major achievement was the
adoption of Process Safety Risk Management
(PSRM).
Safety
• PSRM provide a frame work to manage a
hazardous chemical process plant with
minimum risk.
• Another great achievement was to achieve
11.5 million man-hands with out a lost
work day injury by year end 2005.
Environment
• On the environment front, 100% NEQS
compliance was achieved & self reporting
to Singh Environmental Protection Agency
(SEPA) was started in 2005.
• The Company is committed to achieve the
highest environmental standards and
targeting to become a role model in
Pakistan.

Corporate Social Responsibilities
• The company believes in working with all stake
holders to improve the quality of life, which would be
good for the business and the development.
• The company is making various CSR projects.
• The company contributes a bulk of their budget to
spend in and around Dharki as the company has
being operating in Dharki for more then 40 years
now.
• The company has been intervening in different areas

Education Programs
• The scenario of education in Ghotki is less
than desired.
• The total literacy rate is mere 28.65%, which
consists of 44.2% male and 11.85% of female.
• Pillars for Engro’s education program are:

Health Programs
• Ghotki does not have special health programs,
keeping this in view Engro has developed a
number of health infrastructural programs,
which include:
1. Free snake bite treatment,
2. Dialysis centres at Dharki & Mirpur Mathelo,
3. Engro thalassemia center,
4. Oncology unit at Aga Khan University Hospital,
Karachi,
5. Tele- medicine Project.

• The companies aim is to become a diversified
chemical company operating internationally, in
order to fulfill this they aim to recruit the best
