1
Background Analysis
The study will be conducted at Food Court Intan. The
location is selected due to the activity at the location that has
potential to produce PM10. The major activity that contributed
to the releasing of PM10 is the cooking activity from the food
court. The cooking process is approximately start at 6 am until 7
pm. So during the cooking process the sample of PM10 can be
collected. As the purpose to identify the amount of PM10 can be
collected in the area.
In order to control the level of air pollution cause by
these activities, several methods have been implemented by the
authorities. However, analysis need to be conducted to measure
the level of air pollution before taking an action to reduce the air
pollution. One of the equipment used to conduct the analysis is
HIVOL3000 which it measure the TSP and PM10.

2
Background Analysis
In this experiment, the measured parameter used is
PM10 due to the availability of equipment provided.

Objective
1. To determine the amount of particulate matter
(PM10) at Food Court Intan

2. To identify the effect of air particulate emission

from the activities that occur at the chosen
location.

Conclusion

The amount of particulate matter present in the air

that effected by the nature and human activities are vary in
different places. Increasing activities can lead to high air
particulate matter emission which indicate that it is harmful
to human and nature.
