THE MEANING OF DESCPTIVE TEXT

Descriptive text is an English text that describes

or describes something, both describing
someone, describing a place, describing an
animal, which aims to explain, describe or
express certain people, places or objects
AIM OF DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

the linguistic goal of the dscriptive text is to

preach and express characteristics of certain
objects, places, or creatures in general and
simple without deep and thorough research or
research.
STRUCTURE OF DESCRIPTIVE TEXT
 there are two parts that characterize the linguistic
structure of descriptive text
1.Identification
identification is a descriptive text section that contains
topics that will be described
2. Description
Description is the last part of the Descriptive Text which
contains a discussion or description of the topic or "what"
in the Identification about physical appearance, quality,
general behavior and characteristics.
CHARACTERISTIC OF DESCRIPTIVE TEXT
 In descriptive text, there are linguistic characteristics that
differentiate from other types of text. The characteristics of this
language are as follows:
 Using simple present tense. For example: He has a pointed nose; It is
so big; etc.
 Using various kinds of adjectives which are describing, numbering
and classifying. For example: wo strong legs, sharp white fangs, etc.
 Using linking verb (link verb) like; is, are, appear, feel, grow, look,
prove, remain, smell, sound, taste, and turn. For example: He is
handsome; It smells nice; The song sounds beautiful; etc.
 Using Adverbs (adverbs) to provide additional information about the
behavior or properties (Adjective) described, such as: very, extremely,
definitely. Suppose: He is very handsome; The song sounds
exteremely beautiful; etc

 My beloved mother

Every people certainly have a mother. It is
because people are born from her. The
existence of her among us is definitely
impotrant. That is why I loove her so much. I
owe great debt to what she has been doing to
me until right now. And here is my mother
 (Description)
 My mother’s name is Dinda. She was 49 years
ago. She is short, but not too short. She is little fat.
She is beautiful. Her hand is so soft, the hand
that have taught me to be kind person.she always
tells me to not give up so easily.
 She always gives me some fine solution when I
have some problems. The imfortance of her is
never denied.that is why I never reject her willing.
EXAMPLE OF DESCRIPTIVE TEXT
 Bali island
 Bali is well knows by many names; the island of
gods, thousand- temples island, and the island
of paradise. People call bali “the island of
paradise” is not without reason. Bali has
outstanding natural beauty like a volcano that
looks close and big; endless green paddy fields
which give a sense of peach and tranquility
next
 As well as the grains of balinese beach sand
and the beauty of the sea which are so
mesmerizing. Bali also has dramatic dances,
diverse costomary ceremonies, the best
traditional culinary, as well as beautiful and
wholesome arts and crafts
