Having safely returned to Taiwan, I would like to thank you for the
hospitality extended to me during my visit to Austin. Under your
supervision, the Separations Research Program has become a
leading organization in separations research. I am glad to have had
the opportunity to meet you.
We had a wonderful time at ABC Institute as a result of your
excellent arrangements. I would like to express my appreciation to
the following individuals: Mr. Smith for his enthusiasm and patient
discussion; Dr. Johnson for her helpful advice; and Mr. Brown, Ms.
Richards, and Mr. Thompson for their technical advice. The talk
regarding ABCD with Dr. Jones was quite helpful. Furthermore, a
special thanks to Ms. Smith for her careful arrangement of our travel
itinerary.

I would like to thank you for the hospitality extended to us during our
June 2-4 visit to ABC and DEF Institutes. Each member of the
visiting group feels the visit was quite valuable. I would especially
like to thank you for purchasing the plane tickets from Copenhagen
to Billund for us. I will refund the amount to your Taiwan office as
soon as I receive the fare receipts. Please forward them as soon as
possible since June 30 marks the end of our fiscal year.
Apologies for the delay in thanking you for all the effort you put forth
during my visit to your laboratory. The tour and subsequent
discussions were extremely informative. The visit has provided me
with fresh incentive and encouragement for my own work.
Thank you for the gift you gave me on the final day of my visit. I
thoroughly enjoyed my visit to ABC Institute.

Thanks again for making my visit to ABC a memorable experience.
I learned much from you about the use of laser micrometers in
Gage-block calibration and thin wire measurement. Thank you for
your instruction and advice.
I would like to express our appreciation for the hospitality and
technical guidance you provided to Mr. Chang during his six-month
guest work period at your laboratory. As I'm sure you know, he
participated in your re-examination of the quantized Hall effect at i=2
and i=4 plateau, and set a new limit for the metrology of quantized
Hall effect in resistance standards. His work, under the supervision
of Dr. Smith, compared different SQUID types in CCC circuits. The
paper he prepared was accepted at CPEM'94, and this
subsequently earned him a Young Scientist Award at that
conference. We believe that it was your laboratory's commitment to
excellence that enabled him to have such a fruitful experience.

2. Future contact
You are more than welcome to visit us at UCL whenever
you are in the Far East. I have enclosed a UCL brochure
for your reference.
I look forward to our next meeting on the occasion of
your visit to Taiwan.
Mr. Chang has paved the way for closer relations
between our two laboratories. I hope that we can
continue to strengthen friendship through more such
cooperative efforts. I look forward to seeing you at
CPEM'95.
I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent in your group. I also
hope to have another opportunity to serve as a visiting
researcher at your institute.
