• 30 Marks 100 Minutes
• General Instructions:
• (i) Read the Instructions to questions where they are specifically given and comply with them.
• (ii) Answers should be written on the question paper itself.
• (iii) Answers to the descriptive questions should be brief and within the boxes specifically provided for the same. Don’t spill over.
• (iv) Illegible and bad handwriting will invite non-assessment by the faculty.
• (v) It will be open book examination and students will be allowed to carry ONLY, Taxmann’s Labour Laws 2018 edition with no
jottings
• In case the students’ copy contains jottings, they must bring along with them a photocopy of the clean and relevant pages
containing the Trade Unions Act, 1926 and the Industrial and Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1946. Highlighting is fine. But no
jottings in pencil or pen.
• In case the supervisor finds the students possessing such copies with jottings, etc., they will be removed from their possession and
they will have to answer without the aid of the bare Act. No question of borrowing other’s copy during the examination.
• (vi) The students must switch off their mobiles or any other electronic devices.
Section I (Trade Unions Act, 1926)
• (i) Answer only twelve questions (12*1=12)
• (ii) In case a student answers more than twelve questions, the first twelve questions only will be
assessed; further, each additional question answered will carry 0.5 marks penalty
• (iii) Tick/circle the right answer(s) as required; but the tick or circle should be unambiguous; in
case of confusion and non-clarity those questions will not be assessed
• (iv) In the case of some or all the MCQs, more than one answer may/will be right (there will not
be indication of these in the question paper, the students will have to answer as relevant). Zero
mark will be awarded in case of both commissions (i.e. ticking more than the necessary correct
answers) and omissions (i.e. ticking less than the necessary correct answers) are committed and
for wrong tickings. It will be treated as a wrong answer
• (v) Each question carries one mark and where applicable the division of marks will be indicated
within one mark
• (vi) In some Questions where an explanation (brief answer) is asked to support your choice of say
True/False, both answers MUST be right to get one mark; otherwise ZERO Mark
• (vii) Use Legal, Constitutional and Industrial Relations language. Loose language or vague
answers will not constitute correct answers even if they convey the same meaning.
• (vii) No negative marking apart from those mentioned above.
Section II - IE (SO) ACT (13*1=13)
• i) Tick/circle the right answer in an unambiguous manner.
• ii) Answer any thirteen questions. The first thirteen questions will only be assessed and
there will be penalty of 0.5 mark for every additional question answered.
• (iii) Tick/circle the right answer(s) as required; but the tick or circle should be
unambiguous; in case of confusion and non-clarity those questions will not be assessed
• (iv) In the case of some or all the MCQs, more than one answer may/will be right (there
will not be indication of these in the question paper, the students will have to answer as

• a) Answer Question (1) OR Questions (2) & (3) together

Section IV – Bonus Marks (3*1=3)
• 1. Answer a maximum of three questions.
• 2. Each question carries one mark.
• 3. For wrong answers, the penalty will be 1.5 marks
• 4. For extra questions answered penalty will be 1.5 marks.
