Implementing tech in education
Before implementing any technology into a lesson, teachers
need to answer the following questions:

● What is purpose of the technology?

● What is the appropriate usage time and do all students
have access to the technology?
● What are the laws and regulations that students need to
know?
● How will the teacher measure the technology
effectiveness?

● Establish and maintain rules for technology use

TPACK MOdel ● Pedagogical Content Knowledge
(PCK) is the knowledge that
teachers have about their
content and the knowledge that
they have about how teach that
specific content.
● Technological Pedagogical
Knowledge (TPK) is the set of
skills to identify the best
technology to support a
particular pedagogical
approach.
● Technological Content Knowledge
(TCK) is the set of skills to
help identify the best
technologies to support their
students as they learn content.
The S.A.M.R. Model
● Substitution
○ Technology directly replaces a more traditional method to save time
○ Using MS Word instead of writing on paper
● Augmentation
○ Technology is used to enhance the student's productivity and
potential
○ Using a video clip in a presentation instead of verbal description
● Modification
○ Using technology to increase memory retention or collaboration
○ Using digital flashcards with images or collaborate on online
platforms
● Redefinition
○ Using technology to transform learning experience
○ Using professional networks to learn first hand about a topic
