(average of 5 Oral Grade Report of the Group)
• Best Group Presentation – 10 points
• 2nd Best Group presentation – 7 points
• 3rd Best Group presentation – 5 points
• 4th Best Group presentation - 3 points
• 5th Best Group presentation - 3 points
• Prelims --------------------------------------------- 15%
• 2 Online Quizzes----------------------------------------- 10%
• Assignments/Team Work ----------------------------- 10%

Passing Grade = 60 provided that (Prelims + Oral Report)/2 >= 50

• Rationale for equipment Selection –type?/ Relevance to Process (do not include economics)
• Material and Energy Balance / Flow diagram
• Equipment Design Theoretical calculations
– Properties of Process Materials needed in calculations
– HE – Evaluation of ho, hi, Uo , L, shell as Pressure Vessel (PV)
– Evaporators & Crystallizers – Temp distribution, equal Areas, (PV)
– Packed Columns: Gas , Humidification etc.– Nog, Hog, z, flooding velocity, PV Stagewise: Distillation , Adsorption–
No of stages, plates design, PV
– Filters / Screens / Settling Tanks / Centrifugal Separators / Classifiers (PV)
– Reactors – Reaction Rates, K, CSTR & Mixing, PlugFlow, PV
• Heuristics –use sparingly if data cannot be computed theoretically
• Equipment Specifications/ Specs Sheets for Summary
• Detailed Diagrams (Internal ); Rendered (3D)
• References / Appendix for calculations

 If classes are suspended, report dates will be moved to the next immediate meeting
 Equipment Design presentation (A, B,C,D & E): MAX of 16 min/presentation per group; Bell
Timer will cut off any reporter over 15 min
 Divide oral presentation equally between the two presenters
 Present Highlights of Design / your prototype
 2 min Question from Faculty and/or any member of class
