Foreword
Located at supporting network layer, the SYNLOCK V3
multi-function clock platform integrates the frequency
synchronization network, time synchronization network and
clock monitoring network. It provides communication
network with clock frequency in high stability as well as
time service in high accuracy. The SYNLOCK V3 also
monitors the clock performance of devices in the whole
network.

System Overview
 the synchronization network serves as a supporting
network, which solves the synchronization problems and
monitors, maintains and manages the synchronization
network.
 The SYNLOCK V3 has abundant output ports which

provide the following digital devices with timing reference
signals of high quality.
Login and Logout
 Login:
Select Start > Programs > SynlockV3 > SynlockV3 Program
from the start menu, or double click on the desktop to display
the login dialog box as shown below.
User Name: Admin
Password: Admin
Click Login to display the main interface of the maintenance

terminal as shown below.

 Logout:
Select System >Logout in the main menu to logout the

system.
 Note:
If no operation is performed on the maintenance terminal for

a specified period of time, the system is locked
automatically. To unlock the system, input the login
password in the Lock System dialog box, and click OK.

NE Creation
The maintenance terminal is connected to the SYNLOCK
V3 BITS through serial port or Ethernet port (RJ45).
 Method 1: serial port
Go to menu ”NE VIEW”,

then right click on blank
area, select “Create NE”

Displaying the NE Table View
 Go to menu ”NE VIEW”, then right click on blank area,
select “NE Table View”.
Modify NE Connection Properties
 Go to menu ”NE VIEW”, then right click on the NE, select
“Modify NE Connection Properties”, later it will show you the
connection properties view (same as NE Creation) again.
Modify BITS Properties
 Go to menu ”NE VIEW”, then right click on the NE, select
“Modify BITS Properties”.

Creating Board
 Double click the Data configuration node on the navigation
tree to display the Select NE dialog box. Select an NE, and
click OK to display the Data configuration-Board Position
Diagram dialog box as shown below.

 If you want to add or delete one board, right click the slot
and select right operation.

 Step 1: Select the SRCU/ SOCU board.
 Step 2: right click, and select Configure SRCU or Configure

SOCU (here take the SRCU board as an example) to display a
dialog box as shown below.
 Step 3: After finish configuration, right click and select Load

to display a dialog box as shown below.
 Step 1: Add reference source

 Right click the blank area, and select Add Reference Source
to display a dialog box as shown below.
 Step 2: Configure reference source
 In the reference source list, select the digital signal reference
source, right click, and select Configure Reference Source to
display the Reference Source dialog box as shown below.
 Step 3: Load reference source or load all reference sources
 In the reference source list, right click a record, and select
Load Reference Source, or right click the blank area, and
select Load All Reference Sources.

 In the Figure, the navigation tree in the left pane displays all
the NEs. Select an NE, and click the Current Alarm, History
Alarm, Alarm Level or Alarm Sound tab to query the
corresponding information.

 Select the query condition on the left navigator tree, and
then the corresponding query results are displayed in the
right pane. The query conditions can be added, edited or
deleted.

Performance Management
 The performance data of the SYNLOCK falls into four types:
TIE, MTIE, TDEV and FREQ.
 Here we will take “Querying TIE Data” for an example to

show how to use the Performance Management.
 Double click TIE query under the Performance
management node to display a dialog box as shown below.
 Select the desired NE, board and channel.

Database Maintenance
 Because the memory on the BITS is limited, some important
running data, such as performance and alarm data must be
queried and stored in the terminal database regularly. The
data is stored in Synnet.mdb which is backed up at the
same time. The database needs to be maintained regularly
for the security and stability.
Database Maintenance
 Through the database, you can:
 Delete data
 Backup data
 Restore data
 Delete backup database
 Database maintenance plan
Deleting Data
 On the navigation tree, double click Delete data under the
Database maintenance node.
Backing up Data
 On the navigation tree, double click Backup data under the
Restoring Data
 On the navigation tree, double click Restore data under the
Deleting Backup Data
 On the navigation tree, double click Delete backup data
under the Database maintenance node.
Planning Database Maintenance
 On the navigation tree, double click Database
maintenance plan under the Database maintenance node.
