Ketika menggunakan tangga, lakukan:

• wajah ke depan menghadap ket tangga ketika


naik/ turun tangga

• hanya melangkah naik atau turun tangga,


1 anak tangga pada satu waktu

• Tetap lakukan tiga titik kontak ( three


point contact setiap saat

• keep your body centred within the


ladder stiles; and

• climb down from the ladder if you need to


reposition it.
Sheet 2 - Scaffold construction
For scaffolds 2 metres or more above the work plane, the following construction
is mandatory.
Work platform must be at least 450 mm wide

Rigid guard rails


Access ladder 900mm to 1100mm
secured and high
lashed

Mid rail or mesh


no less than
Toe board 450mm above
200 mm high platform.

Scaffold planks must be securely lashed at both ends.


Sheet 3 - The Scafftag

Any scaffold higher than 4 metres must


only be erected, modified, repaired and
inspected by a certified scaffolder.

Sheet 4 - Scaffold safety

Keep walkways free of obstacles, tools and


equipment.

Keep platforms free of grease and mud.

Climb from one level to another using the ladders


provided.

Use a crane, hoist or winch to carry materials up to


and down from the scaffold.

You should never:

• exceed the safe working load of the scaffold;


• stand on the hand-rails; or
• work from a defective scaffold.
Sheet 5 - Mobile tower scaffolds

When working from a mobile


tower scaffold make sure:

• it is no higher than three


times the smallest base width;

• outriggers are fitted; and

• caster brakes are locked on.

You must not be on the scaffold


while it is being moved.

Only use this type of scaffold


on level, surfaced areas.
Sheet 6 - Elevating work platforms

Barricade under and around


the elevating work platform.

Place all tools and equipment


in bags or buckets.

Only enter and exit the basket


via the gate.

Keep the basket gate closed


and locked while working inside
the basket.

Wear a full body harness


attached to an anchor point
inside the basket.

Keep the front of the basket


within 300 mm of the work area.
Sheet 7 – Power line and stability hazards

Maintain a distance of:

• two (2) metres from any electrical distribution wires on poles; and

• six (6) metres from any electrical transmission wires on towers.

Never exceed the


Safe Working Load of
the basket:

• 200 kg for fibreglass basket; and

• 250 kg for steel basket.

Do not position too close to excavations.

Set back at least one metre from the edge of the excavation for
each metre of excavation depth.
Sheet 8 - Forklift cage

Make sure the forklift cage


is:

• correctly positioned onto


the forklift tines; and

• locked into position so it


cannot slide off the tines.

Always wear a fully body


harness attached to an
anchor point located
inside the cage.

Never stand on the forklift


tines.

Never use a forklift pallet as


a work platform.
Sheet 9 - Safety harnesses

A safety harness:

• stops the fall and spreads the impact shock over


a large area of the body; and

• allows a fall to be stopped or arrested


without causing bodily injury.

The maximum free-fall distance allowed is two


metres.

The safety harness must be attached to:

• a lanyard with a built in shock absorber; or

• a self-retracting lanyard.

The other end of the lanyard must be


securely attached to a static line or
anchor point.
Sheet 10 - Using fall protection equipment
Check the harness for any signs of
wear or damage.

Check the lanyard is firmly attached


to the lanyard.
Strap or belt
Connect the lanyard to a static line or
lanyard
a secure anchor point.

Make sure the anchor point is


positioned above where you are
working.

If you are using a strap or belt type


Lanyard, ensure there is a minimum of
slack so that you cannot fall any
further than two metres.
Self-retracting
lanyard Report any faults immediately.

Never use faulty or damaged equipment.
