What is Green Ship?

• A green ship is one that is made up of


recycled and refurbished parts, or is run off
of renewable energy.

• Recycling ship parts and refurbishing old


ships is the most desirable way to handle
large vessels. make shipping more
sustainable. However, when recycling is not
an option, there are new methods being
figured out that will allow us to build eco-
friendly ships that use renewable energy
What is Green Ship?

• A ship that is carbon efficient is a ship


that is largely made of recycled materials.
Reusing parts of a ship is so helpful for
the environment because it eliminates the
environmental cost of making and
transporting new materials. It also means
that when older ship parts decay or
breakdown, they will not end up
as marine trash. They will be properly
discarded

on each pier, corresponds to the effect of
1600 standard car batteries.
• Turnaround times are an opportunity for
the ferry to recharge at the pier —
recharging in just 10 minutes.

design, the lithium-ion cells in the core of the battery can be
replaced when nearing end of life. Other items, such as
cabling, electronics, cooling, racking and structural

DISADVANTAGES

Hybrid propulsion system


There are two major disadvantages of a hybrid
propulsion system.
• First of all the amount of batteries required
for the system. You have to fill a big room
with batteries that's space that is not
available for cargo. The batteries often are
also very heavy and the latest batteries are
very expensive.
• Second disadvantage is that the total system
could be more complex than conventional
propulsion systems
DISADVANTAGES
Lithium-ion batteries
• Lithium-ion batteries begin to degrade since the factory
release. The battery is only needed for three years, from
the bronze date
• Lithium-ion batteries are very sensitive to high
temperatures. Very high temperature batteries degrade
faster than modules.
• The age of the battery will end, if it is used completely
until it is empty
• A set of lithium-ion batteries has an onboard computer to
set them up. Make the price of the battery rise.
• There are small opportunities, processes that deserve bad,
batteries will explode and burn.
• Not strong against hot temperatures. Need a bigger and
bigger size for a large Ah / kg capacity.
