*Math – We will finish our Fraction unit on decomposing and
adding and subtracting with like denominators. Our test will be
on Tuesday, January 22nd. We will begin equivalent fractions
and comparing fractions on Wednesday. That test will done on
the computer on Friday, February 1st.
* Reading –We will continue to learn about different text
features in nonfiction texts next week. We will also continue our
next read aloud A Long Walk to Water.
* Writing –We will complete our 2 writing prompts for the
nine weeks. We will then begin working on informational writing
for the nine weeks.
* Grammar –We will continue learning about prepositions and
prepositional phrases next week. We will also begin looking at
relative adverbs and pronouns.
* Science– We will begin our unit on Weather. We are
learning about different weather instruments, weather fronts, and
climate vs. weather. We will have a test on Weather on Thursday,
January 31st.
Math: Complete 30 minutes on either Khan
Academy or DreamBox.
If your child is on Lexia or Reading Plus, please
have them work on this at home.
Read 20 minutes/night
Our 1st vocabulary quiz for the 3rd nine weeks is
tomorrow. We will not do vocabulary next
week due to a short week. We will pick it
back up the week of January 28th.
Be ready for Math test on Tuesday –
decomposing, adding, and subtracting
fractions.
