SHAMPOO IN BED

Hair accumulates the same dirt and oil as the

skin.

It should be washed as often as necessary to

keep it clean.

A weekly shampoo may be sufficient for some

persons whereas others may prefer to perform
this aspect of personal hygiene daily.

The nurse may need to shampoo the hair of

those clients who cannot get out of bed for
bathing and showering or who lack the strength
or ability to independently care for their hair.
