INTRODUCTION
A resort is a place where families intend to spend their holidays or weekends for relaxation or recreation.
Usually resorts are commercial establishments like hotels which are managed by companies. People in
urban areas are especially busy all through the week and look for ways to refresh and rejuvenate
themselves. Resorts are the perfect place for such people who can happily spend time with their families
and also getaway places for birthday parties and theme parties. They are usually located away from the
hustle bustle of cities and towns. People can go for long drives and reach the resort which is generally self-
contained.

Several companies for the benefit of their employees reserve weekend resorts. These resorts offer the right
ambience and encourage the employees to participate in several group activities and events. This kind of
mingling among the employees brings in close association among themselves and in turn improves the
relations in offices.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
• To provide a recreational environment for the resort through varieties of facilities and functions.
• To provide hospitality and relaxation for both domestic and foreigner tourists and promote tourism.
• To provide a space for official meeting and seminars in natural surroundings.
• To create a new attraction for tourist.

OBJECTIVES:

• To analyze the site, study the topography and the climatic conditions.
• Study the bye laws of goa.
• Do a live case study to cover all the aspects of a beach resort and a resort in general.
• Make analytical study of the functional requirements of resort and implement efficient
design to carry out the functions smoothly.
• To study about spatial organization and areal need of resort programs.
• Provide a recreational environment for the resort through varieties of facilities and
functions.
• Provide hospitality for both domestic and foreigner tourists.
• Create an interactive ground for locals and visitors so that there may be interchange
of ideas and cultural demonstration.
• The ultimate objective is to attain unique resort design with all the knowledge and skills
that is learned throughout four years of learning. The final design should be free from all
the design anomalies.
THE SCOPES OF THE PROJECTS ARE-

• To study the multivarious spaces of a resort and their inter dependencies and interaction with each other.
• Study and incorporating of local materials which comply with the favourable conditions of the climate and
enhance and accentuate the aesthetics.
• Study of construction techniques to be applied keeping in mind the soil conditions.
• To study and adhere the coastal regulations to protect the environment and the guests.
• Landscaping complying with a coastal region and incorporating the various flora available locally.
THE LIMITATIONS OF THE PROJECTS ARE-

• Only the land area, with the approved project clearances is available for development.
• The designing aspect will be constrained to the activities inside the resort only, the beach will not be taken
under any sort of development.
• Services will not be studied in much detail.
• Restricted to the designing of spaces within the resort.
• Structural aspects will not be studied in detail.

• Use of different design concept to acquire final built structure with proper interior and exterior in accordance
with surrounding.
• Final product as complete architectural drawings, 3D’s, model, report and other supporting materials.
PROPOSED SITE FOR BEACH RESORTS
WHY THE SITE ?

Being a deserted land of 80 acres and near to the famous Talpona Beach, it’s a perfect place for the project. This
place is very well connected by railway lines and 2 major roads. Left side of the site has open beach view and has
Talpona river flowing on the north side.
