Case analysis O ¢ The above stated case is about PRECISION TOOL ENGINEERING which has a workforce of 400 employees, where two third of the workforce work in the production department. e In late 1989, the management decided to introduce the TQM to increase the efficiency and quality control in the organization. e The first move towards TQM were made with introduction of BS 5750 in which workers were asked to inspect quality of there work, which was a great success. e Inearly 1989, management decided to introduce a full blown TQM scheme in which problem solving group were formed with the voluntary participation. Group leaders were mainly supervisors and the review team were mainly managers with one representatives from each group who were usually a group leader. e When reviewed was done it was found that TQM had not lead up to the expectation and some called it failure.
