Statement of Purpose
• To experience and actively participate in
graduate recruiting events, hosted by banks and
other financial services companies.
• To network with and learn from working
professionals, Tepper alumni, and graduate
students from other academic institutions.
• To promote Tepper’s global brand name and hold
prospective student information sessions.
• Tourism and cultural exchange!

• Last year’s reception was generously
sponsored by our alumni and held at
the prestigious American Club in Hong
Kong.
• Students were hosted by alumni from
both Tepper, as well as the broader
institution of Carnegie Mellon, for a
night filled with networking, food, and
fun!
Preparations
• 14 first-year MBA and MSCF students, from both Tepper
campuses in Pittsburgh and New York, registered for
and attended the Trek.
• Participants were required to attend several logistical
meetings and resume reviews. Topics covered included:
• Flights
• Visas
• Lodging
• Participants were also required to conduct and submit
company research, questions, etc. prior to departure.

From Pittsburgh to Hong Kong (PIT to HKG):
Start looking for flights in October when Trek dates are finalized!

• You have to arrive in Hong Kong by Sunday evening, Nov 21st.

• You have class on Monday, November 29th, 2010!!! Come

back!

• I don’t have any recommendation on carriers . You can usually

find deals online, which should range from $900–$1,400.

Mid-terms Schedules
• Last year, students were required to take 2 mid-
term examinations in Hong Kong, Statistics &
Decision Making and Economics.
• Examinations were proctored by Lesley in a hotel
conference room on the day of arrival.
• This year, the option to take mid-term
examinations in Hong Kong will depend on
permission from faculty and Student Services.
Resume Reviews
• What: ABA Professional Development Week!
• When: September 27 – 30, 2010.
• Where: Tepper TBD

• All Hong Kong Trek attendees are required to

attend (NYC campus members may have their
resume reviewed via e-mail by a Board member)!
• All resumes should be consistent in Tepper format,
or they will not be included in the resume book.
