Historical Significance

* Prehistoric period – the distance past when there is no


paper, language or written word in notebooks or written
document present.
* Scholars had constructed accurate knowledge about
what happened and how people lived in prehistoric times
by their old tools, habitat, bones of animals and human
beings and drawing on the cave walls.
The stone age is the first of the three age
system of archaeology which divides human
technological prehistory into three period:

•Stone Age
•Bronze Age
•Iron Age
The Stone Age is a broad storic period
during which stone was used to
make implements with edge,
a point or a face.
The period lasted
years and ended and
2000 BCE with the metal
working.
Stone Age is divided into
three:
• Paleolithic
• Mesolithic
• Neolithic.
 Paleolithic Period – the prehistoric period in
the Early Development of human beings is
commonly known as “Old Stone Age” or
“Paleolithic Age” (50, 000- 10, 000 BC)

 Subjects of early works confined to simple


human figures, human activities, geometric
designs and symbols.

 Paintings and drawings are the art forms


done by the human beings to express their
feelings on the cave walls.
Theories about the meaning of the Cave Art:
 An Archeologist theorized that it can be a Hunting
Magic (Ceremonial) . Ensuring about a successful
hunt.

 Other scholars theorized that it can be a Fertility


Magic.
 Totem animal (Animals that are not necessarily hunted
and be eaten)

 Several scholars theorized that it is Sorcerer


Drawings or Shaman.
