Introduction
This “Kids Learning App for Abasyn School System” is an android
application exactly like the “Maze series English Pre 1a book”
which is the academic book of the Abasyn School System. Students
will learn the basics of English language like its alphabets, names of
animals, birds, fruits, vegetables, colors, objects and parts of body .
By using images, animations and sounds the app will attract the
children's attention to study & they will learn with more interest.
This app is like their academic book being installed in their android
devices.
Background
The motivation behind developing this app that there is no
such an android app available at Google Play store which is
same like the English Pre 1a Book. So the students are getting
confused while using other English learning apps as its
contents are very different from their book and learning those
strange names and objects are difficult for them,
And we have to also get rid of the annoying and unessential
features which do exist in the available learning apps.
Aims & Objectives
Due to the interest of the children in smartphones, computers and
animations we decided to make an android learning app for kids to learn
basics of English.
Some of the main objectives of this project are given bellow:
 To offers an easy way to learn basics of English.
 To make the kids excited by attractive interfaces & interactions
 The kids will enjoy the learning through this app
 This app will be a digital smart book for the children's

System Modules

There are six activities (Modules) which are part of the


lifecycle of this application:
Splash Screen, Main Activity, Fruits & Vegetables,
Animals & Birds, Parts of Body, Colours and Things.
Each of them are explained in the coming slides.
Splash Screen & Main Activity Modules

As the App get started


the Splash screen
activity will be loaded
& after four second the
main activity will be
launched by the System
Fruits & Vegetables Activity

This activity contain


fruits and vegetables
images with its name
and voice from A-Z.
By Swiping to right and
left side the image will
changed and the
name of that
fruit/vegetable will be
pronounced.
Animals & Birds Activity

This activity contain


animals and birds
images with its name
and voice. By Swiping
to right and left side the
image will be changed
and the name of that
specific animal/bird will
be pronounced.
Parts of Body Activity

This activity contain the


image of body organs.
By clicking on a specific
organ, the system will
pronounce it’s name
and will also show that
name in a toast.
Name of Colors Activity

This activity contain the


image of colours. By
clicking on a specific
colour image the app
will pronounce it’s
name while applying an
animation (hyperspace
jump) and will also
show the colour name
in a toast.
Things/Objects Activity

This activity contain the


images of things along
with its name and
voice.
By Swiping to right and
left side the image will
changed and the
name of the object will
be pronounced by the
app.
Future Work

Because of the time limitation to develop an android based


interactive app for kids, the prototype is not very advanced and
can be easily improved. This section covers all the features which
can be added in order to improve the interactive software for
Basic English learning. In future we have planned to enhanced the
current app and also to develop more apps for all the subjects at
primary level.
