Abstract

Energy plays a great role wherever man lives and work. The living
standard and prosperity of a nation vary directly with the increase in the
use of energy. The electricity requirement of the world is increasing at
an alarming rate due to industrial growth, increased and extensive use of
electrical gadgets.
According to World Energy Report, we get around 80% of our energy
from conventional fossil fuels like Oil (36%), Natural gas (21%) and
Coal (23%). It is well known that the time is not so far when all these
sources will be completely exhausted.
What is Green Energy?

• Green Energy is energy which comes from natural resources such

as sunlight, wind, rain tides and geothermal heat which are
renewable (naturally replenished ).
• Green Energy also called as Renewable Energy.
• Renewable Energy alternative to fossil fuels and was commonly
called Alternative Energy.
Benefits of Alternative Energy

Solar Energy

• Solar Energy represents the energy produced by the sun.

• India is a country having over 300 sunny days a year and solar
systems can prove a boon.
• The most common source of solar power utilizes Photovoltaic Cell to
convert sunlight into electricity.
Advantage of Solar Energy
Disadvantages of Solar Energy
Geo-thermal Energy

• Geo-thermal Energy is the energy obtain from the Earth (Geo) from the
hot rocks present inside the earth.
• It gives a hope to reduce Global Warming.
• Geo-thermal Energy is one the rare forms of energy which is not directly
or indirectly from solar energy.
Advantage of Geothermal Energy
Disadvantages of Geothermal Energy
Wind Energy

• Wind Power is one of the cleanest and safest method of generating

Renewable electricity.
• Winds refers to the movement of air from high pressure areas to low
pressure areas.
• Wind will always exist as long as solar energy and people will be able to
harness the energy from till then.
Advantage of Wind Energy
Disadvantages of Wind Energy
Biomass Energy

• Biomass Energy is the energy which is contained inside plants

and animals.
• This can include organic matter of all kinds plants, animals, or
waste products from organic sources.
• Organic materials used to produce Biomass Energy include
forest residues (branches, dead trees, and tree stamps), wood
chips, yard clippings, and municipal solid waste.
Advantage of Biomass Energy
Disadvantages of Biomass Energy
Conclusion

In our lifetime, there will be more advances made in the

field of energy. Our generation will need to value the
Natural Resources that human life needs on this Earth.
We will need to be part of the ongoing and individual
application of Green Energy sources so the Earth stay
healthy and resources stay renewed.
