 There are 161 million people visually impaired out of 6.7billion
people in the world. Each visually impaired individual faces
different challenges based on their specific level of vision.

 With the rise of various support-based organizations, more

visually impaired people have been given the opportunity to
education and many other means.

 But still the issues of navigation for the blind are very complex
and troublesome especially when they walked down in street
and also navigate to distant places by public transport system.

 In this project we propose a system with smart stick that can

alert the blind man about the fire and living or nonliving
obstacle using sensor networks.
 Blind person will have a stick.
 This stick will have an ultrasonic sensor in left, right and
front side , PIR sensor, fire sensor and a buzzer.
 Ultrasonic sensor will detect the presence of a nonliving
object.
 A vibrator will vibrate if any obstacle will be detected.
 PIR sensor will detect the presence of a living body.
 Fire sensor will detect the fire.
 In all three cases buzzer will operate and voice playback
module will give a voice message.

 The whole project is divided in to 6 modules.
Module 1, 2, 3 and 4 of our project
comprised of 60% work has been completed.
Module 5 is now in progress.
