• Made up of an Independent Clause ond one or more dependent
Clauses.
Formula :

IC + DC
Example :

I greet my mother before i go to school.

COMPLEX SENTENCE
• DEPENDENT CLAUSE BEFORE INDEPENDENT CLAUSE

Example :
- When Alice gets home, she will make dinner.

- If i can’t find my keys, i won’t be able to start my car.

- As soon as the castaways waded ashore, the Professor

began building a radio.
COMPLEX SENTENCE
• DEPENDENT CLAUSE AFTER INDEPENDENT CLAUSE

Example :
- I greet my mother before i go to school.
- He asked his friend to come over before the game

the public still learned about the illegal detainment
of prisoners.
COMPOUND COMPLEX SENTENCE
Definition
Contains at least 2 independent clauses (like a compound sentence) and at least 1 dependent
clause (like a complex sentence).

• First, make one IC.

How to write • Second, make another IC that is related to the first IC.
• Third, make one DC that could tell us more about the situation or explain an action.
• Fourth, put it together with conjunctions.
Example (2 IC + 1 DC)
IC  The cat jumped onto the couch.

reaching for it.
