Introduction
 SAP has enabled its Business Analytic customers the
capability to establish secure connections to SAP over
the Internet for support purposes.
 Currently, SAP offers two alternative ways to connect
to the Support Network over the Internet:
 SAProuter with Secure Network Communications
(SNC) over the Internet
 Internet Virtual Private Network (VPN)
 In this Ppt we will discuss both alternatives and their
technical specifications, and compare the two option
What is VPN?
 A Virtual Private Network is a connection method
used to add security and privacy to private and public
networks, like WiFi Hotspots and the Internet. Virtual
Private Networks are most often used by corporations
to protect sensitive data. However, using a personal
VPN is increasingly becoming more popular as more
interactions that were previously face-to-face
transition to the Internet. Privacy is increased with a
Virtual Private Network because the user's initial IP
address is replaced with one from the Virtual Private
Network provider. Subscribers can obtain an IP
address from any gateway city the VPN service
provides
Why do we need VPN?
 Hide your IP address
Connecting to a Virtual Private Network often conceals your
real IP address.
 Change your IP address
Using a VPN will almost certainly result in getting a
different IP address.
 Encrypt data transfers
A Virtual Private Network will protect the data you transfer
over public WiFi.
 Mask your location
With a Virtual Private Network, users can choose the
country of origin for their Internet connection.
 Access blocked websites
Get around website blocked by governments with a VPN

Conclusion
VPN is an emerging technology that has come a long way.
From an insecure break off of Public Telephone networks
to a powerful business aid that uses the Internet as its
gateway. VPN’s technology is still developing, and this is a
great advantage to businesses, which need to have
technology that is able to scale and grow along with them.
With VPN businesses now have alternative benefits to offer
to their employees, employees can work from home, take
care of children while still doing productive, and have
access work related information at anytime. VPN will also
help to make the possibility of a business expanding its
services over long distances and globally, more of a reality.
