M.Ed. for Ph.D. students

■ Graduate school now requires a new application for the M.Ed.

– The M.Ed. cannot be added

■ M.Ed. requires 45 hours
■ A degree plan is filed and includes foundational coursework, research tools, and
electives
■ Students must pass the comprehensive examination
– Proctored by the college
– Students must apply to take the exam (this is announced)
– Students must file an intent to graduate
Licensure as LSSP

■ The Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP) licenses students who:
– Have a graduate degree with psychology in the title
– Have completed the 60 hours of coursework specified by the TSBEP
– Completed practicum
– Completed internship
– Successfully passed the School Psychology Praxis Examination
■ Typically taken during internship
