INTRODUCTION
This research finds out relationship between woven fabric geometry and its physical properties. To

study the properties of fabric with respect to its geometry, We construct low and high cover factor

fabric by using different weave designs and materials. 12 samples were produced, 6 from cotton

yarn and 6 from polyester yarn. Three designs were used, each design contain low and high cover

factor. Samples are constructed using Air jet Omni plus dobby 2005 loom with different pick

densities. Cross-sectional analysis performed “with optical microscope” to study the geometry of

fabric. Similar yarn count was observed to make a comparison, as it will help to make comparison

of the cross-sectional analysis of the different samples.

OBJECTIVES

 To observe the correlation between woven fabric geometry and its physical
characteristics.

 To observe the changes occur in fabric geometry by changing its cover factor,
material and weaves.

 Three designs: 1/1 plain, 2/2 twill, 5/1 twill.

MATERIALS

 20 Nec 100% Cotton

 300 den 100% Polyester

EXPERIMENTS
We take 20 Nec100% cotton yarn and 300 Den 100% polyester yarn and manufactured samples from it.
We take three types of designs
1) Plain 1/1
2) Twill 2/2
3) Twill 5/1
