Summary
• We asked a total of 19 questions from the
survey takers. Out of which 18 questions were
compulsory.
• The responses were collected by Google forms
by sharing it on various social media sites.
Here we see that the rate of people willing to vote
declined from 95%(as seen in previous chart) to 90%.
Interest in Politics
- Majority of people rated themselves above
6 (63.3%) and 50% rated themselves above
7.
- Quite a large number of people follow news
regularly, if we combine often and sometimes.
- Just 3 people were against the participation
of youth in politics.
- If we combine Agree and Strongly Agree
then we get that majority of people find
themselves suitable to discuss political views.
- This was asked to understand the
influence of family and surroundings
on personal political views
- A small percentage of people are
engaged in political activities.
Here we tried to know how people have
engaged themselves in various political
activities, whether they’ve done or would like to
do following things or not:
• Signing a petition
• Help collect signs for petition
• Taking part in rally/demonstration
• Damaging things as protest, like breaking window
• Writing or contacting Prime Minister
• Writing or contacting politician
• Writing or contacting newspaper, TV, radio
• Written blog online on any website
• Boycotted any thing
- Maximum people have signed petitions and helped in collecting signs
for petitions.
- Majority have never damaged any thing during protests.
- Maximum people want to take part in a rally/demonstration.
- Gender equality’s movement was
supported the most, followed by Farmer’s
and then Green Movement.
Observations
• If we consider the rating in interest in politics
as good, then those people whose parents
were least active in politics rated themselves
highest and they also followed political news
frequently.
• Student studying in B.Sc.(H) or B.Sc. are least
interested in joining politics in future, only
38%.
Observations
• The students of BA(H) or BA, rated their
interest as highest, 81% rated more than 8.
• Approx 81% people, whose parents were
active in politics often discussed political
agendas during face-to-face or online
interaction.
• The age group 18-20 was found to be most
active in political activities such as protests
and signing petitions.
Observations
• Problems by 15-17 age group:
Corruption, Development, Cyber Crime
• Problems by 18-20 age group:
Women safety, Education improvements,
Gender equality
• Problems by 21-30 age group:
Income, Employment, Terrorism issues
Scope of improvement
• The results could have been more precise had
there been more number of responses.
• We could have derived Gender specific results.
• We could have tried to know the ways of
people promoting a particular political party.
• We could connect the interest of people in
politics to their willingness to join politics and
their participation in day to day political
activities.
