STEPS TO FOLLOW TO
EXPORT
 REGISTRATION AS AN EXPORTER

1. Process the Unique Tax Registry (RUT) in any office of

the DIAN or SuperCade
 MARKET STUDY AND LOCATION
OF POTENTIALDEMAND

Select the market in which you want to venture. Identify

the characteristics of the country where it will be
exported, such as consumer preferences and regulations.
 LOCATION OF
THE TARIFF POSITION

Locate the tariff subheading of

your product
through the customs tariff or in t
he Information Center of your
city.
 PROCEDURES FOR APPROVAL

Consult the DIAN if your product requires prior authorizat

ion for export authorization. After processing them, you
must submit the Shipment Authorization Request to
the DIAN's computer system.
 CUSTOMS PROCEDURES
FOR DISPATCH BEFORETHE DIAN:

 When you have the merchandise list

check negotiation terms.

 You can use a freight or marine agent

for contracting international
transport.

 In the DIAN of the Port, Airport or Bor

der Crossing, you can request
the Application for Authorization of B
oarding.

 If the export is worth more

thanUSD10,000, this procedure must
be done through a Customs Agency.
 PAYMENT METHODS

There are different means

of international payment: b

transfers, letters of credit,
guaranteed
letters, Standby
guarantees.
 EXCHANGE PROCEDURES OR
CURRENCY REIMBURSEMENT

It must reintegrate the

currencies through the
intermediaries of the
exchange market, such
as: commercial banks
and other financial
entities.
