Assume blood and body fluids of any patient could
be infectious
Therefore hospital staff must wear PERSONAL
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
To prevent parenteral, mucous membrane and
non-intact skin exposures to blood borne
pathogens

Wound dressing
OR procedures
Ward activities
FACE
MASK
c. Place the upper edge of the mask over the
bridge of your nose, and tie the upper ties at
the back of the head or secure the loops
around the ears
d. Secure the lower edge of the mask under
the chin, and tie the lower ties at the nape of
the neck
e. If the mask has a metal strip, adjust this
firmly over the bridge of the nose

5. Don protective eyewear if it is not combined
with the face mask
