Use Basic Function

Functions
• Functions – are built-in formulas that perform a
special calculations automatically.
• It may be used by itself, or it may be combined with
other functions.
• Excel provides multiple functions; some are used
for statistical and financial analysis, while others
are used in database operations.
• Functions may be entered using the keyboard,
the mouse or combination of both.
Sum function • The Sum Function adds a
value in a range.
• Syntax
• =sum(number1;number2…)
• =sum(beginning range:end
range)
Average Function
• The Average Function gets
the average of the values in
a range.
• Syntax
• =average
(number1;number2…)
Statistical Functions
Min (Minimum Function)
• Indicates the lowest
value in a range.
Max (Maximum Function)
• Indicates the highest
value in a range.
• Returns the median of the given
Median numbers.
• The median is the number between the
middle of a set of numbers.
• Example:
• Median(1;2;3;4;5)
• Answer is
• 3

• Returns the current date and time • Returns the number that
