Background
As an educator we need to acknowledge the changing focus and
role of the teacher within education, recognise the role students
play in achieving their own learning needs in style and mode that
best suit them and undestand the relationship each has on
achieving intended learning outcomes individually and
profesionally

Kenneth Feldman (1988) did a meta-analysis of 31 studies


in which teachers and students identified characteristics
they associated with good teaching and effective
instruction. He found that students emphasized the
importance of teachers being interesting, having good
communication skills, being available, and helpful.

effective teaching into six principles based on
student relations with their experience

◉ Provide clear explanations and remember to clarify the
reasons why a particular fact or skill is essential for
understanding the whole.

Conclusion
Effective teaching is more than the transfer of knowledge
and skills possessed by the teacher to students, but
effective teaching also ensures that the learning that the
previous student has can increase so that students can
learn to analyze, develop, create, and understand the
learning. Students also have the initiative to continue to
learn and develop as independent learners.
