INTRODUCTION
• Automation has been the need for human being from
ancient times.
• First automated system came 1500 years when the first
water pump for metal working rolling mills was developed
• Automation is the art of making processes or machines
self-acting or self-moving.
• It also pertains to the technique of making a device,
machine, process or procedure more fully automatic
Automation in electronics
• Automation in the electrical, electronics and
computing world has grown rapidly of which dates
back to 1940 when the first electronics computing machine
was developed.
• Switches are the integral part of electronic automated
devices
• Automatic switches works without any human
interferences
Our Concept
• Conferences forms an integral part in our political and
business world
• Most MNCs have a dedicated conference rooms where
critical decisions are taken
• Our law makers also have ministerial conference room
• Taking into account the secrecy to be maintained in such
conferences we came across designing an automated
conference hall where external human interferences can
be avoided
• We term it a “ SMART CONFERENCE HALL ”
Idea Explanation
Our project controls the following:
• Automatic display of number of people present in the
conference hall at a time
• Count decrements as people leaves
• We divided the whole hall to 2-3 levels and light set up is
based on that
• All lights will be off and curtains will cover the windows
once the projector is switched ON and vice versa
• Two doors one entry door and exit door to give the correct
counts

Making of the Model

• The implementation of this system was done on the

breadboard.
• The circuit diagram has been etched to a Copper clad
• After proper etching PCB has been neutralized
• Soldering has been done after drilling the Copper clad
• After soldering we got output as per our design
• And further we developed a small model
ADVANTAGE
• COST EFFICIENCY
• EASY IMPLEMENTATION
• DURABILITY
• PORTABILITY AND COMPACTIBILITY
• AVOIDED THE USE OF MICROCONTROLLERS
• LOW POWER CONSUMPTION
Limitations
• Our model is not accurate in detecting the people entering
and exiting
• Any small disturbances will be sensed and count will be
generated
• We have designed this circuit dividing the hall, i.e., if 19
people attends the meeting one part of lights gets ON
(here 1 light) if a 20th person comes the next part fully will
be lighted.
Future & Further improvements
• The model can be extended with a temperature sensor ,
humidity detector and an invertor set up
• Light intensity can also be varied depending on count
• Door opening and closing can be made automatic
• On a large scale can be used in government as well as
MNC conference halls!
