92.4% of Valerius 3rd-5th grade students will be proficient or advanced in the area of math as measured by the 2017 Iowa Assessment
Mathematics test.

complete a Bone Diagram for
both MATH & READING.

Presenting to teachers & staff
Primary Audience
● Engaging and motivating
● Set the tone - starting the presentation with a
video to remind staff that we are in this together
and need to work as a team/system to see results.
● This would be shown to staff and a bone diagram
would be completed by each grade level PLC.
● Bone diagram would be used to follow up with
grade level PLC on actions towards improvement.
● The diagrams would also be used in the strategic
action plan. This can then be used to determine
themes of strong desires to continue to work on as
a building or for individual teachers.
Presenting to school board
Secondary Audience
● Informational - explaining processes in place to
meet goals.
● Summary would be given to the board of what was
presented to staff.
● Explanation of how presentation was framed
around responsibility vs fault and the mindset of
that data is not to be used as a weapon, just a
presentation of facts.
● Share the data the same as I did to staff - being
our current reality.
● Then share grade level PLC completed bone
diagrams as our actions for improvement.
