Mandate (E.O. 192)
• The NRDC shall be responsible for promoting natural resource development and
conservation through:
1. Production, use, and marketing ventures or projects using new/innovative
technologies, systems, and strategies
2. Financing natural resource development projects undertaken by the private sector
3. Promotion of the enhancement of forest renewal rate

• To hasten development by promoting, undertaking, or using technologies system that
complements the utilization and conservation of natural resources

• To be the prime mover in providing linkage to the development of industries or
enterprises in DENR Sector

Subsidiaries
• Bukidnon Forest Incorporated (BFI)
- a joint forest business venture between the Philippines and New Zealand
- manages and implements the Industrial Forest Management Agreement (IFMA No.
006) i.e. the commercialization of forest resources

• Philippine Mining Development Corporation (PMDC)


- carries on the business of exploring, developing, transporting, trading and promoting
gold, silver, copper, iron, and all kinds of mineral deposits and substances
- provides adequate environmental protection and mine rehabilitation measures

EIA Review Fund Management
• Management of EIA Review Trust Funds per DAO No. 2001-09.
• To effectively implement the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) System pursuant to
DAO 2001-01
Ongoing Projects
Mycorrhiza Project
• Developed by ERDB in support to the National Greening Program
• Aims to improve the quality of seedlings through a beneficial fungus acting as natural
biological fertilizer in symbiotic relationship with host plants
• NRDC shall produce, market and distribute the products
• Three (3) production sites:
1. Ramon Magsaysay Technological University (Botolan, Zambales)
2. Bohol Island State University (Bilar, Bohol)
3. CARAGA State University (Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte)
Ongoing Projects
Diwalwal Mining
• Per Memorandum dated February 2, 2005, NRDC shall monitor small scale mining
operations (600 masl within 729 has.) in Mt. Diwata, Brgy Diwalwal, Monkayo, Compostela
Valley.
• NRDC shall jointly operate with J.B. Management Mining Corporation covering 452.29
has. per Agreement dated March 3, 2010
Ongoing Projects
Patrimonial Properties
• Per MOA dated July 31, 2007, DENR turned over nine (9) patrimonial properties located
in National Capital Region (8) and Cordillera Administrative Region (1) to NRDC
• Per MOA dated May 27, 2009, DENR turned over fifteen (15) Reclaimed Land Lease
Agreement (RLLA) to NRDC, mostly located in Cebu City
• Presently, properties leased out include:
-Three (3) patrimonial properties in NCR
-One (1) patrimonial property in Baguio City
-Three (3) RLLAs in Cebu City
Pipeline Projects
• Non-Combustion Destruction of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)
- Under NRDC-EMB MOA dated May 20, 2016, NRDC shall manage and operate the
Non-Com POPs Destruction Facility in Brgy. Dos, Mariveles, Bataan
- 240 metric tons of Polychorinated Biphenyl (PCBs), a hazardous chemical substance,
shall be treated under the Tripartite Agreement between NRDC, EMB and IPM
Construction and Development Corporation
- Expected time to operate is on the 3rd quarter of 2016
Pipeline Projects
• NAMRIA Housing and Mixed-Use Development Project
- Aims to provide housing units to NAMRIA and other DENR Employees, located at
Lawton Avenue, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City
- Area: 5.7 has. within NAMRIA Compound.
- Ensures revenue generation from commercial areas therein
Pipeline Projects
• Development of Sanitary Landfill and Material Recovery Facilities Project
- Pursuant to RA No. 9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000), NRDC
and DENR entered into a MOA to ensure proper regulation, storage and treatment and
disposal of solid waste.
- NRDC entered into a JVA with Grandia MRF Services
- Presently, NRDC is requesting for possible sites for the Project
