What is Ubuntu and Windows 10?

They both are the operating system. The


operating system is the set of software package
which manages the hardware and software
instructions and controlling of the computer
Services Provided by the OS
- Program execution
- Access to Input/Output (I/O) devices like Disks,
screens, keyboards, mice, Printers, cameras,
speakers, etc.
- Controlled access to files
- System access, Sometimes: Program
developments, compilers, editors and debuggers
Ubuntu
Ubuntu is an open source software which was developed by Canonical in October
2004. It is a very reliable operating system. Its latest release is Ubuntu 18.10.
Basically, it comes with three official editions: Ubuntu Desktop – for the personal
computer, Ubuntu Server – for making the servers and Ubuntu Core for the IoT and
Robots. “Ubuntu” is an African concept meaning “Humanity towards other”. Some
key features of Ubuntu are given below:

•It’s an open source operating system.


•Ubuntu is has a very easy to use user Interface.
•Security point of view Ubuntu is very safe because of its less useful.
•Font family in Ubuntu is very much better in comparison of windows.
•It has a centralized software Repository from where we can download the all
required software from that.
•Unix Environment is the best for the programmer.
•Command Line interface – It has both command line interface as well as GUI
interface.
•Cost- It’s an open source which is free of cost.
Windows 10
Windows 10 is an operating system series which is developed by Microsoft. It was
released in July 2015. It was launch to target personal computing. The key features
of the Window 10 are given below:

•Windows 10 is the latest and the best update of the Windows series.
•It is the best Operating system for gamers.
•The UI interface of the Windows 10 is very good.
•Windows10 supports many apps and keyboard and mouse attraction is very nice in
this.
•We can sync our windows mobile with the Windows 10 operating system very easily.
•It has a Cortana which is a visual personal assistant is very useful and helpful.
•It has a new browser name as Microsoft edge.
•It has a better snap assist.
Minimum Requirements

According to Microsoft, the minimum system


requirements for Windows 10 are:
•Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster processor
•RAM: 1 GB for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit
•Hard disk space: 16 GB for 32-bit OS 20 GB for 64-bit
OS
•Graphics card: DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver

Ubuntu, on the other hand, requires the following


minimums:
•700 MHz processor
•512 MB RAM
•5 GB of hard-drive space
•VGA capable of 1024x768 screen resolution
Comparing Ubuntu and Windows 10

- One fundamental difference between the two systems is the fact that
Linux is "open source"
- Linux falls short in the number of different applications available for it
as compared to Windows 10
- There are much more various applications available for Microsoft since
the population of Window’s users is greater than Linux’s Since Microsoft
is more popular, the Hardware products are aimed at the biggest market
– Windows, such that the product would be sold and used widely
- There are drivers available for much many types of hardware devices
- Linux is more virus proof since viruses malicious programs either
cannot be run automatically on the Linux machine, or
simply are not capable of being executed on its architecture
- Linux allows does not create registry keys in a way Windows does
allowing a user to browse installed components registry keys, which
contain important information
