How do form the plural form of cow?

Answer: We added –s to cow to make it plural.
There are rules in forming the plural of nouns.

1. Words that end with –s, -sh, -ch, -x, we add –es to form it plural.
For example: church + es = churches, bus + es = buses

2. Words that end with –y like boy, we simply add –s.

For example: boy + s = boys

Note that there are words that end in –y form their plural by changing
–y to –i and add –es.
For example: Lady (singular) = ladies (plural)

3. There are some words that change its spelling when transformed to its
plural form.
For example: brother (singular) = brethren (plural)
child = children

4. Most nouns ending in –o also form their plural by adding –es to the
singular.
For example: mango (singular) = mangoes (plural)
hero = heroes
potato = potatoes
5. A few nouns ending in –o merely add –s
For example: piano (singular) = pianos (plural)

6. Nouns ending in –f or –fe form their plural by changing –f or –fe into v and
adding –es.
For example: thief (singular) = thieves (plural)
wife = wives

Most other nouns ending in –f or –fe add –s.

For example: chief (singular) = chiefs (plural)

7. A few nouns form their plural by making some changes to inside vowels.
For example: man (singular) = men (plural)
foot = feet
Guide Card: Subject – Verb Agreement
What is Subject-Verb Agreement?
Subject –Verb agreement is just like dancing
Cha-cha that each other’s step must agree with each other so that you will not be stepping each other’s feet. For example,
the subject and verb must agree with each other which means that if the subject is singular, you must use the singular verb
and if the subject is plural, you must use the plural verb. When we say singular, it means one, and when we say plural, it
means two or more.

For example: Singular Subject (one) + Singular Verb = Correct Sentence

Anna + dances.

Plural Subject (two or more) + Plural Verb = Correct Sentence

The students + dance.

We have to follow these rules:

1. Singular subjects take singular verbs and plural verbs take plural verbs.

Point-of-view Singular Plural

1st Person I sing. We sing.
2nd Person You sing. You sing.
3rd Person He/ she / it / sings. They sing.

2. Indefinite pronouns such as each, either neither, one, every, everyone, everybody, someone, somebody, no one, nobody,
anyone, anybody take a singular verb.

Example: Everybody looks great.
