GROUND.
YES : REPAIR BROWN 101
WIRE BETWEEN ROAD LIGHT
SWITCH AND TAIL LIGHT.
DISCONNECT HERE
NO : REPAIR GROUND WIRE

DISCONNECT THE HARNESS

YES : CHECK THE ORANGE 353

REACH OPERATING TEMPERATURE. IS ENGINE COMPARTMENT. DOES
INDICATOR LIGHT STILL ON ? INDICATOR GO OFF?

5. CHECK WIPER RELAY TERMINAL 85 FOR GOOD GROUND. IS

YES : CHECK MECHANICAL GROUND AT HORN MOUNTING AREA.

NO : HORN DOES NOT SOUND. GO TO 2

2. WITH IGNITION KEY IN ON POSITION, PRESS HORN BUTTON


AND CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT YELLOW WIRE 204 AT HORN. IS
VOLTAGE MEASURED ?
YES : GO TO 3 NO : GO TO 4

3. CHECK FOR GOOD GROUND AT HORN. IS GROUND GOOD ?

YES : REPLACE THE HORN NO : REPAIR THE GROUND.

4. CHECK 10 AMP HORN FUSE. IS FUSE GOOD ?

YES : GO TO 5 NO : REPLACE THE FUSE.

5. REMOVE HORN RELAY. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT TERMINAL 30. IS


VOLTAGE MEASURED ?

YES : GO TO STEP 6
NO : CHECK RED WIRE 302 BETWEEN HORN FUSE AND HORN RELAY

6. WITH KEY IN IGNITION POSITION , CHECK FOR VOLTAGE ON


TERMINAL 86 WHILE THE HORN BUTTON IS PRESSED. IS VOLTAGE
MEASURED ?

YES : GO TO 7
NO : CHECK BLUE WIRE 206 BETWEEN JOYSTICK AND HORN
RELAY. PERFORM CHECK ON HORN SWITCH.

7. CHECK FOR GOOD GROUND CONNECTION AT TERMINAL 85 . IS


GROUND GOOD ?

8. CHECK YELLOW WIRE 204 BETWEEN TERMINAL 87 OF HORN


RELAY AND HORN. IS YELLOW WIRE GOOD ?

YES : GO TO 9 NO : REPAIR WIRE

9. CHECK GROUND WIRE AT HORN . IS GROUND GOOD ?

YES : REPLACE HORN RELAY. NO : REPAIR GROUND

1. WITH THE ENGINE STOPPED, DISCONNECT THE MULTICONNECTOR AT THE PARK BRAKE SWITCH. TURN THE KEY SWITCH TO THE IGNITION
POSITION. USING A MULTIMETER, MEASURE VOLTAGE AT THE RED WIRE 502. IS VOLTAGE MEASURED ?

YES : GO TO STEP 2 NO : IF VOLTAGE IS NOT MEASURED, CHECK THE RED WIRE BETWEEN THE PARK BRAKE SWITCH AND
PARK BRAKE RELAY TERMINAL 30.
2. PERFORM A CHECK ON THE PARK BRAKE SWITCH.

A. DISCONNECT THE HARNESS FROM THE SWITCH.

B. PUSH THE SWITCH TO THE ON POSITION.

C. CONNECT AN OHMMETER TO TERMINALS 1 AND 2.

IS CONTINUITY MEASURED ?

YES : THIS PORTION OF THE SWITCH IS GOOD.


NO : THIS PORTION ON THE SWITCH IS FAULTY.

D. PUSH THE SWITCH TO THE OFF POSITION.

E. CONNECT AN OHMMETER TO TERMINALS 2 AND 3.

IS CONTINUITY MEASURED ?

YES : THIS PORTION OF THE SWITCH IS GOOD.

NO : THIS PORTION OF THE SWITCH IS FAULTY. 00.4

YES : GO THE STEP 3 NO : REPLACE THE SWITCH


3. RECONNECT THE MULTICONNECTOR TO THE PARK BRAKE SWITCH. REMOVE THE PARK BRAKE RELAY. ENGAGE THE PARK BRAKE SWITCH TO
THE ON POSITION AND CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT TERMINAL #87 AND #86.
IS VOLTAGE MEASURED ?
YES : GO TO STEP 4

NO : CHECK THE BROWN 501 WIRE


BETWEEN THE PARK BRAKE SWITCH AND
THE BRAKE RESET RELAY.
4. CHECK THE PARK BRAKE RESET RELAY TERMINAL 85 FOR GOOD GROUND.
IS THE GROUND GOOD ?
YES : MEASUREMENTS 5 OHMS OR LESS, GO TO STEP 5

NO : MEASUREMENTS GREATER THAN 5 OHMS,


OPEN IN HARNESS CIRCUIT OR CONNECTOR
TERMINALS IN THE WRONG POSITION.
5. PERFORM RELAY CHECK ON PARK BRAKE RESET RELAY AND PARK BRAKE RESET RELAY.

A. REMOVE THE RELAY FROM THE HOLDER.

B. CONNECT BATTERY VOLTAGE TO TERMINAL 86

C. CONNECT A GROUND TO TERMINAL 85

D. DOES THE RELAY CLICK ?

YES : CONTINUE NO : REPLACE THE RELAY


E. CONNECT AN OHMMETER TO TERMINALS 30 AND 87.
IS CONTINUITY MEASURED ?
YES : THE RELAT IS GOOD. NO : REPLACE THE RELAY

6. REINSTALL THE PARK BRAKE RESET RELAY. TURN THE PARK BRAKE OFF. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT TERMINAL 86 OF THE PARK BRAKE RELAY.
IS VOLTAGE MEASURED ?
YES : GO TO STEP 7 NO : CHECK THE BROWN WIRE 511 BETWEEN THE PARK BRAKE SWITCH AND PARK BRAKE RESET RELAY.

7. CHECK THE PARK BRAKE RELAY TERMINAL 85 FOR A GOOD GROUND.

YES : MEASUREMENTS OF 5 OHMS OR NO : MEASUREMENTS GREATER THAN 5 OHMS,


LESS, REPLACE THE PARK BRAKE RELAY. OPEN THE IN THE HARNESS CIRCUIT OR
CONNECTOR TERMINAL IS IN THE WRONG
POSITION.
PARK BRAKE DOES NOT
ENGAGE- ELECTRICAL CHECK
1. WITH THE ENGINE STOPPED, TURN THE KEY SWITCH TO THE IGNITION POSITION. CHECK THE 10 AMP GROUND DRIVE FUSE FOR VOLTAGE.
IS THE FUSE GOOD ?

YES : GO TO STEP 2 NO : REPLACE THE FUSE AND CHECK FOR A SHORTED CIRCUIT OR COMPONENT.

2. USING A MULTIMETER, MEASURE THE VOLTAGE BETWEEN BOTH TERMINALS OF THE PARK BRAKE SOLENOID.
IS VOLTAGE MEASURED ?
YES : IF VOLTAGE IS MEASURED, GO TO HYDRAULIC CHECK. NO : GO TO STEP 3
3. USING A MULTIMETER, MEASURE THE VOLTAGE BETWEEN A GOOD CHASSIS GROUND AND THE GREEN WIRE IN THE
HARNESS END OF THE PARK BRAKE SOLENOID.
IS VOLTAGE MEASURED ?
YES : REPAIR OR REPLACE THE SOLENOID NO: GO TO STEP 4

4. USING A MULTIMETER, MEASURE THE VOLTAGE BETWEEN A GOOD CHASSIS GROUND AND THE 502 RED WIRE TERMINAL 30 ON THE
PARK BRAKE RESET RELAY.
IS VOLTAGE MEASURED ?

YES : GO TO STEP 5 NO : IF VOLTAGE IS NOT MEASURED, CHECK

RESET RELAY AND THE GROUND DRIVE
FUSE
5. PERFORM A RELAY CHECK ON THE PARK BRAKE RELAY AND PARK BRAKE RESET RELAY.

(A) REMOVE THE RELAY FROM THE HOLDER

(B) CONNECT BATTERY VOLTAGE TO TERMINAL 86

(C) GROUND TERMINAL 85


(D) DOES THE RELAY CLICK ?
YES : CONTINUE NO : REPLACE THE RELAY
(E) CONNECT AN OHMMETER TO TERMINAL 30 AND 87

IS CONTINUITY MEASURED ?

YES : THE RELAY IS GOOD. NO : REPLACE THE RELAY

12 VOLTS

GROUND
YES : IF THE RELAY IS GOOD, CHECK THE GREEN WIRE BETWEEN THE PARK
BRAKE RELAY TERMINAL 87A AND THE PARK BRAKE SOLENOID.

NO : IF THE RELAY IS FAULTY, REPLACE THE RELAY
