Present Perfect Continuous

Tense (PPCT)
Lesson 1
It express the duration of an action beginning in the past
and still continuing at the moment of speaking and may
continue into the future.

Uses: have been/has been + V ing

Time signal are: for, since, before, once, the whole day,
still, etc.
Pada umumnya ppct digunakan untuk:
Menyatakan bhw suatu peristiwa telah terjadi di masa lampau dan masih terjadi
hingga saat ini dan masih berlangsung di masa mendatang.
Ex: She has been working here for five years. (dia sudah bekerja di sini selama lima
tahun)

Menyatakan kelangsungan suatu perbuatan pada saat tertentu, meski saat ini
perbuatan itu tdk terjadi lagi.
Ex: we have been waiting for hours today. (kami sudah menunggu selama berjam-
jam hari ini).

Pada kasus tertentu, penggunaan ppct hampir sama dg present perfect tense (ppt). Hanya saja, ppct lebih
menekankan kelangsungan peristiwa, sedangkan ppt lebih menekankan hasil.
Ex: I have not been going to Bandung for two years. (saya sdh tdk pergi ke Bandung selama 2 thn)==ppct
I have never gone to Bandung (saya belum pernah pergi ke Bandung)==ppt

2. The monument (stood/is standing/has been standing) here since World War II.

months.

hours.
5. She (was teaching/has been teaching/is teaching) in High School since she graduated
from UIN.
